Filming Schedule and Availability- 5th December- 18th December
Once we completed the storyboard and animatic we started an availability schedule and filming schedule for our video. Annabelle had created and had already began to produce the filming schedule whilst myself and Kathryn finished the animatic but once finished I worked alongside Annabelle to finish the filming schedule whilst Lucy and Kathryn produced and created props. We believed the filming schedule would be extremely beneficial to us when it came to filming as it would serve as a clear indication to us and the cast what dates we were filming, what frames would be filmed, location of filming, the props, equipment, lighting and costumes needed and the cast and the crew required. I felt our filming schedule was detailed and organised and by writing the specific frames of the storyboard in details of shots that would be taken and the props, equipment and outfits needed meant we could potentially save a lot of time when it came to filming. The titles of our filming schedule are as follow: firstly, we list the date and time in which we would be filming; however, at the time of creating this times and dates were not 100% certain however, we agreed that after printing it out and once the dates were agreed we would fill them in by hand. It then stated the location in which we would be filming so it clearly shows everyone where we are filming and on what day and the next title is frames in which we would be shooting on that day. Furthermore, we go on to list what equipment, lighting and props will be needed for this specific day and place and also list the cast members and crew that will be available to film. Our final section of the filming schedule states the costumes to be worn by the cast members in each location which since our treatment have been altered in order to fit with our cast and additional outfits have been added. The use of a filming schedule is that it will keep the group and the filming organised as every detail has been listed; it will allow us to see what shots we still need to shoot and will also serve as a good anchor when it comes to our time management and keeping on track in order to meet the deadlines. Please see our filming scedule below and please click the images to be taken to the original document. The frames and props in red indicate these shots haven't been allocated a specific location and we have the opportunity to film them in either location.
Once the filmin schedule was completed we also produced a filming availabilty document using Excel that would show us when we were all available to film during sixth form hours as well as the agreed days within the Christmas holidays that we would use for the main filming. This meant finding a time at least two of the crew were available and depending on what scenes were being shot whether Ruby or Ryan (Christian) were available. Initially we started producing this as a team but after a short time I was then left to complete this task on my own. This meant looking at 6 timetables in total and noting down who was free during which period within the sixth form day and being based on a two week changable timetable meant this changed each week for the same day. Our filming availability document can be viewed below and when clicked upon will take you to the original document. The key signifies who is free on what day and when.
Furthermore, because we knew that we would be filming most of our music video footage during the summer holidays rather than purely during sixth form hours we additionally produced another excel document that showed when we were free in regards to the days within the holiday; we carried this out as a whole team with the additional help of our artist Ryan aka Christian. We agreed we should have at least 2-3 crew members filming during the holiday and felt this was the best time to film scenes such as the beach and bowling especially as this meant having both of our actors also free. We found this difficult to organise to an extent as nearly all of us had work commitments or family commitments during the break which meant although we initially wanted 3 team members to be at all filming events at times we had to have only two of us filming. This filming schedule showed us that everyone except myself was available on the morning of the 29th December which we decided would be the day for bowling as one of the cast members was limited in regards to time due to work and then agreed to do the beach and arcade filming on the 4th January in which myself, Kathryn, Ryan, Ruby and hopefully Annabelle would be available. The green indicates time in which we are free all day, orange means people are free for half of the day and red shows people are busy; however, this was subjective to some slight alterations depending on whether people's work schedules changed.
