What aspect did you enjoy the most within AS?
My favourite and most enjoyable part of AS was the filming and overall production of our horror opening as I felt this was the crucial part in which all our creative input and ideas were able to be combined together. I also enjoyed learning new skills regarding different camera work shots and techniques and learning new knowledge and skills when it came to editing our clip using Sony Vegas Pro which before our preliminary task I had never used before. I also enjoyed being in a team as we were able to share the responsibilities and help and support each other when necessary, whether this was encouring cast or helping the filming crew and script advisor in order for our opening to look realistic and well produced.
What was your biggest challenge of AS and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge of AS level was time management as me and my team didn't stick to our schedule as planned due to filming issues and battery problems which means we had to go to our location and film more than we primarily wanted to. We also feel we spent too long on the editing process and even though we reached all deadlines felt that for A2 we need a strict schedule that is realistic and detailed that we will aim to stick to in order to complete all our work by the deadline. We also felt this was a crucial aspect to improve on as A2 involves a lot more work and tasks which means we will have to be even more efficient and organised with our time.
What aspect did you enjoy the least of AS?
My least favourite part of the AS course was enduring exam prep and studying for section B in particular as I felt this was the most complex out of Section A and Section B as it involves various aspects and elements all of which could come up within the exam; we had to study all these aspects and be able to apply them to the media industry and our four case studies.
What are you looking forward to the most within the A2 course?
The elements I'm most looking forward to on the A2 course is learning about new media elements and designing and producing print media texts; I'm also looking forward to learning about the various theories and how they can be applied to the current inductry. Similarly to AS I'm also looking forward to planning our music video and the filming and production of our music video. In addition to this I'm looking forward to the smaller aspects such as being able to effectively lip synch within our music video, research in to our chosen music industry and conduct detailed and precise planning that allows us as a group to come up with different concepts and ideas in order to achieve a high quality final piece.
